How Social is Your Wedding?

No comments:

Research recently published by IDC and sponsored by Facebook says the national average for smartphone users checking facebook is 13.8 times; PER DAY! In view of it playing such a big part of our everyday life, will your wedding day be any different? Here how to get your wedding “social”!

Facebook
Most business now have a facebook page which you can “like”, “comment” and “follow”. Some even offer exclusive offers for their “friends”. Will you be creating an event or group to invite your friends and share your wedding plans? There is no doubt that even before your wedding day is over, photographs will have been uploaded, friends “tagged” and then a couple of weeks later there are the “official” photographs to share. But when will you change your name and/or relationship status?!

Pinterest
My advice if you are looking for inspiration on flowers, colour schemes or favours, is Pinterest. Set up an account which will only take a couple of minutes, download the “pin it” toolbar and then when you are searching the web, click the button which saves it to your pinterest board. You can set up multiple boards and see what everyone else is pinning. Want inspiration on the go? There's an app for that!

Twitter
Can you limit what you want to say to 140 characters? Everyone can, you just need to get creative! Create your own wedding day hashtag eg #lucyandtomwedding or use a hashtag to find suppliers eg #weddingphotographer #Manchester. For those that can’t get enough, join us for #bridehour (@bridehour Thursdays 8-9pm).

One final thought, now hashtags are used on facebook as well as twitter, will your guests be using them to talk about your big day? x
